What are your hours of operation?
Sunshine State Academy is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Extended hours are available from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Are meals provided for students?
Yes! Sunshine State Academy provides a healthy breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack daily, and these meals are included as part of the tuition, with accommodations for allergies and dietary needs if parents notify the school.
How does Sunshine State Academy communicate with parents?
Sunshine State Academy keeps parents informed through integrated technology that sends daily updates, progress reports, photos, and announcements throughout the day, and also encourages regular dialogue between teachers and families for questions and feedback.
What kind of teachers work at Sunshine State Academy?
All of Sunshine State Academy’s teachers are certified professionals who are passionate about early childhood education and student development. Teachers have a CDA, 48 hours of childcare training in Florida, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology, Elementary Education, and/or Early Childhood Development.

Absolutely! Sunshine State Academy Preschool hosts monthly parent-teacher organization events and community outreach in Hollywood, Hallandale, Aventura, and throughout Broward County and South Florida.

What age groups do you serve?
Sunshine State Academy welcomes children from age 1 through age 5, offering age-appropriate learning experiences that help every child grow at their own pace.
How do you support early learning and development?
Sunshine State Academy uses a hands-on, child-centered curriculum rooted in play, exploration, and discovery to nurture language, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Teachers use standards-aligned lessons and tailored activities that build early literacy, mathematics, problem-solving, and social skills in a safe, supportive environment while encouraging curiosity and strategic thinking.
Is tuition all-inclusive, or are there extra fees?
Tuition includes breakfast, lunch, and snack. There are no hidden fees or surprise costs.
How do you ensure my child’s safety?
Sunshine State Academy has secure entry systems, background-checked staff, and strict safety procedures to give families peace of mind. We also have full-time Hollywood Police officers on duty on site throughout the school day.

Along with Sunshine State Academy’s integrated communication technology that sends daily updates, Sunshine State Academy encourages families to join school events, volunteer opportunities, and classroom activities throughout the year.
